Introduction
Tamil University is a pioneering research and teaching institution that undertakes serious research on Tamil language, culture and scientific Traditions. It undertakes advanced research and training in the fields such as art, culture, music, stage-plays, paintings, sculpture, architecture, literature, grammar, diaspora studies, linguistics, history, epigraphy, archaeology, religion, philosophy, geography, ancient sciences, soil sciences, astronomy, navigation and shipping, astrology, siddha medicine, engineering sciences and handicrafts based on the rich materials of the Tamil Language, Literature and Culture.
Endowment for Research Chair
You can invest rupees 10 crore and the interest proceeds would be used for establishing a chair named after persons of your choice.
Endowment for Visiting Professor
Under this scheme an amount of 1 crore or above could be invested and the interest proceeds from this corpus would be used for inviting a professor and senior/retired teacher to do research on Tamil language and Culture.
Endowment for Student Fellowships
You can invest rupees 1 lakh to 1 crore for sponsoring students doing doctoral research, or M.A. M.Phil.
Endowment for Special Lectures
You can invest Rupees One lakh or above for annually sponsoring a lecture in the name of a scholar or person of your choice.
One Time Grant for Special Lectures
You can sponsor a special lecture (lecture series) for rupees 5000/- (per lecture event). Lectures related to Tamil language and culture would be organized.
Sponsor a Research Project
You can invest or sponsor a research project on a relevant topic concerning Tamil language and culture.
