Greater Tamil Lexicon
Objectives
- Preparation of Tamil lexicon by incorporating the words found in the Tamil literatue, grammar, historical and scientific books, inscriptions, folk literature, research books and journals, and also the words found in regional dialects and in other states of India and also in countries such as Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Mauritius.
- Supporting and assisting the Tamil Population living inside and outside India, to understand the significance of various words and terms used in Tamil and use these words more effectively in all walks of life.
- Publication of various types of dictionaries for dialects, various disciplines and glossary of terms.
Achievements
- Publication of six volumes of Tamil Lexicon. (From “A” to “Au,” four volumes
- Publication of two volumes, for Consonants (Ka onwards).
